Frequently Asked Questions
I CAN Learn® is an acronym for Interactive Computer-Aided Natural Learning. Here's why:
I CAN Learn® Online is a fun and thorough approach to learning math that combines live action video and animated lessons proven to take the confusion out of difficult concepts. Students work online, at their own pace, through the following engaging lesson segments:
Placement Test: This test is used to survey the student's skill level and determine where in the lesson order they should be placed for the course they are working in. The user will take a placement test at the start of each new section of their selected course. Not all courses will have a Placement Test, particularly the "tutoring" courses where all of the lessons from each course are made available.
Warm Up: This section warms students up to determine what they already know and prepare them for the lesson presentation.
Lesson Presentation: Why is the coordinate plane crucial in locating hurricanes? This question is just one of hundreds that will be answered in the lesson presentation that combines real-world situations with important mathematical concepts. Students watch videos, take notes and work through problems at their own pace, working towards a comprehensive understanding of the topic presented.
I CAN Learn® Tutor: This section assesses how much information the student has retained concerning the lesson. Students are presented with questions pertaining to the concept at hand. If they need help, they are given hints. If they get the problem wrong, I CAN Learn® Online takes them through the solution step by step so that they can see where their mistakes were made.
Quiz: It all comes down to this section, where 10 questions are presented to test the student's knowledge of the subject. The quiz is automatically scored upon completion, and if there are any incorrect answers, you can view the correct solutions.
